Eleanor
Owen Kerr is a fine art photographer who was drawn to photography from
an early age by her love of being in the landscape and exploring the mysteries
of its quiet, hidden depths. These interests persisted through an intervening
career as an attorney, and Eleanor now devotes all of her time to photography.
She completed a one-year Professional Certificate program at Rockport College
at the Maine Photographic Workshops and has studied privately with well-known
photographer Paul Caponigro. Her work is shown in juried exhibitions around
the country and hangs in numerous private collections. In an increasingly
digital age, Eleanor remains committed to film-based images and prints
all of her own work in a traditional wet darkroom; she values the contemplative
stance and intimate connection with the work fostered by these traditional,
hands-on processes.
Eleanor lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her family and two astonishingly
large dogs.
